Sunrise Pine is a private, accredited U.S. online school. In our elementary school, young learners build their foundations in reading, writing, math, and science through live one-to-one Zoom classes with a teacher who knows them, encourages them, and meets them exactly where they are.
In grades 1-5, children build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and science with a patient teacher by their side and a schedule that works for your family.
Individual Zoom classes where a teacher gives your child full, undivided attention.
Lessons move at your child's speed, with time to master basics before moving on.
Reading, writing, math, and science skills that every later school year builds on.
An observer profile, detailed monthly reports, and regular personal contact with us.

The early grades decide how a child feels about school for years to come. In a classroom of twenty-five, a quiet child can fall behind in reading or math for months before anyone notices. With one teacher and one student, that simply can't happen.
Children complete age-appropriate coursework through our online learning platform, with lessons, activities, and progress all in one place. Alongside that, they meet their teacher in live one-to-one Zoom classes, where the teacher explains new ideas, practices together with them, celebrates their wins, and gently works through whatever is hard that week.
Depending on the plan, students have one or four live classes per week, each lasting 45 minutes. Between classes, children work through their daily lessons and activities, and every student receives a to-do list for each day of the school week, so your family always knows exactly what needs to be done to stay on pace.
Scheduling is built around your family's life, not the other way around. You can set a fixed weekly schedule with the teacher, or book each class through a calendar link at times that suit you. This makes the program workable from any time zone.
Your child follows a complete, structured U.S. curriculum that builds skills step by step from grade 1 to grade 5, delivered through a child-friendly online platform and taught live by our own teachers.
Because every class is one-to-one, your child's teacher adapts each subject to their level, spending extra time where it is needed and moving ahead where your child is ready for more.

Elementary school at Sunrise Pine is real, structured schooling with real progress behind it. Children complete coursework, practice skills, and build measurable results in reading, writing, and math, records that carry into middle school, whether they continue with us or enroll elsewhere.
And because every class is one-to-one, nothing slips by unnoticed. Your child's teacher sees their work in every class, knows exactly what clicked and what didn't, and adjusts before a small gap becomes a real one.
You see it all too. Every parent receives an observer profile on our learning platform, so you can check your child's progress and pacing at any moment. Each month you receive a detailed report on how your child is doing, and between reports we stay in regular personal contact, because we would rather mention something small today than surprise you with something big later.
Some of our youngest students are starting school for the very first time. Others join us partway through elementary school, often from schools outside the United States.
Either way, we start by understanding where your child is. During the admissions interview, we talk through their background and current level, and if they're transferring, we review records from their previous school so they pick up exactly where they left off. Switching schools never means starting over.
All instruction is in English, and our teachers are used to working with children who are still building fluency, adjusting their pace and explanations so your child can follow comfortably. At this age especially, children absorb language remarkably fast when they use it every day.

At a school built on one-to-one teaching, teachers are everything, so we choose ours carefully.
Every Sunrise Pine teacher holds a university degree in their field, and many bring advanced graduate training at the master's and doctoral level. Just as important for this age: our teachers are patient, warm, and genuinely invested in their students. Because classes are one-to-one, your child's teacher knows their progress, their strengths, and exactly where they need support, in every single class.
For a young child, having one consistent teacher who knows them, cheers for them, and never lets them feel lost is often what turns school into something they look forward to.
Everything in the early grades is about building the base: reading with confidence, writing with ease, and a comfort with numbers that makes later math feel possible instead of scary.
Students who continue into Sunrise Pine's online middle school move up seamlessly: same platform, same teaching model, and often the same teachers they already know and trust. And if your family's plans change, your child's records transfer to any school, in the U.S. or abroad.
One-to-one teaching is one of the most studied ideas in education. In a landmark series of studies, educational researcher Benjamin Bloom found that the average student taught one-to-one performed better than 98 percent of students taught in a conventional classroom. Not because those students were smarter, but because every minute of every lesson was about them: their questions, their pace, their gaps, their wins.
That finding is the entire idea behind Sunrise Pine. Your child never waits for a class to catch up, never gets left behind when the class moves on, and never spends a lesson hiding in the back row. Every class is theirs.
Sunrise Pine School is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC). Accreditation means our teaching, curriculum, and records are independently reviewed and held to the highest standards. You can verify our status directly on the ACS WASC website and learn more on our accreditation page.
In practice, this means your child's education is recognized in the same way as schooling at a traditional school, and their records and progress are accepted by other schools worldwide.
Families choose between two plans. The full plan includes four live 1-to-1 classes per week and costs $4,950 USD per year. The lighter plan includes one live 1-to-1 class per week and costs $3,800 USD per year. Monthly payments are available for both.
Everything else is identical: both plans include full platform access, all coursework, grading, official records, and the same dedicated teachers.
For elementary students, most families choose four weekly classes, since young children thrive on frequent, consistent contact with their teacher.

Yes to both. Children can begin first grade with us or transfer in at any point in the school year. Because learning is self-paced and classes are one-to-one, we simply start from wherever your child is.
Yes. Classes are scheduled individually around your time zone, either as a fixed weekly schedule or booked class by class through a calendar link.
Your child doesn't need perfect English to join, just a level strong enough to follow along, which we assess together during the admissions interview. Young children pick up language remarkably quickly when they read, write, and speak it every day, and our teachers go out of their way to accommodate children who are still building fluency, adjusting pace and explanations as needed.
Live classes take place one-to-one over Zoom at scheduled times, and daily lessons happen on our online learning platform. Your child needs a computer or tablet, a stable internet connection, and a quiet place to work.
More than with an older student, especially in the early grades. Young children do best when an adult helps them settle into the daily routine: starting lessons, keeping the to-do list moving, and being nearby for questions. Your child's teacher carries the actual teaching, and the daily to-do list makes it easy to see what needs to happen each day.
You'll always have a clear picture. Every parent receives an observer profile on our learning platform, with a live view of progress and pacing. Each month you receive a detailed progress report, and our teachers and staff stay in regular contact with parents in between, so nothing ever comes as a surprise.
